A rough day in America

I guess some days I just sit back and wonder, I wonder how such an advance species could possibly become so self destructive. We have literally planned our failure and we strive to head toward it so fast.

In just our country alone we refuse to help each other based on simple things like political affiliation, race, class or religion. For the most part people have decided its better to destroy humanity then to save it.

We won't pass the right legislation that would save our planet, and help with health issues because It takes away from the big corporations and politicians need donations.

Why do we hate ourselves so much that we refuse to love ourselves.

Think about it people, just think hard and figure out a way to love again.

Sarah Palin Walks Away

Some say that soon to be former Governor Sarah Palin will be pursuing a higher political career, I tend to think she has thrown the towel in on politics. I believe that when she arrived back to Alaska the pressure was on. She started getting the ethics complaints, her family was under a microscope and I am sure there is allot more the public has not heard about. The interesting thing about all of this is the way she handled it. Its obvious the heat got too hot in the kitchen. Isn't that how politics works. Doesn't it eventually get really hot, and the idea is to put on your gloves and handle it. I am even sure allot of the ethics complaints where probably foolish. That's how politics work, but you never give up.

I truly believe any political career she may have thought was possible will never happen. She gave up on her own people. So we don't need someone who will give up on the rest of us.

Reflection

It seems like just yesterday when I first saw Thriller come on tv. I remember it well because I was with my mom at a friend of hers house. My first best friend Harry.

I guess every where you turn people are talking about Michael Jackson, some people saying good things and some people saying horrible things. We all have our opinions about this mans life, but I think the greatest thing we can learn from all of this is to take a look in the mirror. Start with yourself and change things inside of you. We all have areas we need to improve on.

Second, we need to look at our loved ones closely, and make sure that they are doing ok, make sure that they are not hurting inside and the people around them are helping and not hurting them.

Third, we need to set realistic goals for our children. We need to let them know that success is not measured by how much money or fame you have, it is measured by what you accomplish in life and how did your accomplishments affect and change others.

I will be the first to admit that I need to make changes in my life. How often do we look in the mirror and learn about ourselves, we have become a society so critical of others, how often do we criticize the reflection in the mirror. Who am I to call you strange? Why can I not accept that you are not like me without calling you a weirdo? Am I better then you since I make more money and pay more bills?

So many questions to ask but so many answers to receive. Somehow if we dig deep we will find our flaws are often greater then the ones we notice in others.
